Summer List

Last night Kaili and I were chatting about our weekend plans and I suggested we do a checklist for the rest of the summer. We took turns writing things we have already done and things we want to do – the first few ideas were easy. After that, Kaili started dreaming big… real big… she wanted to add: “A new bedroom set”, “a shopping spree” and a “trip to Paris”. After some coaxing off the mountain of wishes and dreams, I suggested ideas that didn’t cost so much money and something we can actually do in the next few weeks. She came up with some pretty cool ideas and I loved that most of her idea's included the entire family. I'm so excited for our upcoming adventures! What are your summer plans?

I saw this idea in a magazine.... so I can't take credit :)

Second Grade, oh how I love thee

My quick witted little one who often leaves my jaw on the floor with her random thoughts of wisdom is far more knowledgeable in fashion than I ever was… or am and judging from our conversations of late… I believe I am in for a crash course in what is in and what is out. We have always gotten away with shopping at Target or as she calls it “The Red Dot Store” but last night as she is looking through clothes… she is looking at the TAGS and schooling me on what these TAGS mean….

This tag is “Jessie” I don’t like her style… we need to find tags with “China’s” style because we are the same… and Mom, you need to buy me a swag jacket

Whoa… what… when… who is Jessie, China… and what the heck is a swag jacket…??! Apparently a swag jacket has a mixture of various materials as she enthusiastically explains to me and after a few minutes of my fashion ignorance and impatience… we left Target The Red Dot Store with just a couple of tank tops and no swag jacket....

Looks like Santa will have to figure out this whole swag jacket thing....
