I am soooo excited - I will be heading to San Francisco this weekend for a quick trip to see my Grams, she’s visiting from Guam. She’s 83. I’m her favorite :) and yes, everyone knows it…although they won’t admit it. She’s an amazing woman and can captivate you when she speaks. She lights up when her grandkids show up….she smiles as big as she did twenty years ago. She still wears lipstick and still rolls her hair before going out on the town. She is constantly giving me marriage advice….and ‘attempts’ to talk to me about s – e – x…..which causes abnormal shuddering on my end. She is well known in the village for her bread making skills. She would bake into the wee hours of the morning (hmmm….that’s where I get it from). I remember watching people show up early in the morning to pick up their orders and my grandma would greet them with a smile and her perfectly curled hair and lipstick. I would snatch a couple of bread rolls here and there…. then watch in slow motion, as her hand came down to slap mine telling me to stop with a giggle in her ‘scolding’. I remember whenever I’d get sad….I’d climb into her bed….and her aroundness made everything better. Her smile made everything better. I’ve missed her deeply…. and can’t wait to give her a big hug and tell her.
This is me :) I think I was six months old....
